Eyebrow lamination errors. Errors in long-term styling of eyebrows.
Let's look at the mistakes that artists can make when laminating eyebrows
The first composition will irritate the skin, you will see creases in the hairs. Under no circumstances should the first and second compositions interact on the eyebrows. This will make the client feel uncomfortable
Steps in the lamination procedure
The first stage in the procedure is preparing the eyebrows for lamination and a very common mistake that masters make is scrubbing, or using alcohol-containing solutions before preparation in order to degrease the eyebrows or prepare the skin. Since the first composition for eyebrow lamination is a very alkaline composition, you need to think logically about how it affects the skin and hairs, since alkali is very corrosive and loosens the surface of the skin and hair. We do not need to degrease the skin, we only need to remove makeup impurities, or those impurities from the atmospheric environment that can settle on the eyebrows and skin. That is, we do not need to use scrubs and alcohol-containing solutions. Another point why you shouldn’t use a scrub is because the first composition will irritate the skin. When we use a scrub, we slightly injure the surface of the skin and this will cause discomfort to the client, and the deeper you injure the skin, the greater the likelihood that there will be a burn or an allergic reaction.
One of the possible mistakes during long-term styling or lamination of eyebrows may be that the artist is guided solely by the manufacturer’s recommendations for holding time. You must remember that the exposure time is a very individual indicator in the procedure, you should always pay attention to how the eyebrows react to the first composition since this is influenced by many factors, ranging from the thickness of the hair, the density of the hair, whether there have been lamination procedures before on the hairs, whether the hair renewal period has passed, what is the temperature and humidity in the room where you are performing the procedure. Therefore, you should not blindly act according to the instructions from the manufacturer; you must definitely check during the procedure how the hairs react to the composition.
Another possible error in the procedure is when eyebrow correction is carried out before the lamination procedure - this is strictly prohibited, since any trauma to the skin using tweezers, hair pulling, correction with wax or thread. Any types of correction are contraindicated before the lamination procedure. The correction injures the skin, the skin becomes susceptible to the compounds and an allergic reaction or irritation and associated discomfort during the procedure may also develop. Thus, we carry out the correction strictly after completing all stages of long-term styling.
A very important technical point in the lamination procedure is washing off the compositions of each stage of the procedure with water. This is a very important and mandatory stage. Under no circumstances should the first and second composition interact on the eyebrows - these are two opposite, contradictory substances with different PH levels. One is acidic, the other is alkaline and their contact on the eyebrows leads to undesirable effects, the eyebrows begin to dry out, break off and in general the effect of the procedure will be undesirable. Therefore, we always remember that we complete the first and second stages of the procedure by washing off the compositions with water. The cotton pad should not be very wet, water should not flow from it, but the cotton pad must be moistened and wrung out well with water. Using gentle applying movements, we wash off the first composition and under no circumstances press too hard on the eyebrow, do not put pressure on it, because the hairs are currently very soft and pliable under any influence. This must be done very gently. If the eyebrow is too wet, you can simply dry it with a dry cloth or dry disk before applying the next composition.
Also, a common mistake made by masters in the process of laying out the desired eyebrow shape is not observing the angle of laying out the hairs. You must follow these rules: the beginning of the eyebrow should be laid out strictly perpendicular to a 90-degree horizontal line drawn under the eyebrow, and with each subsequent stage you comb the hairs lower and lower along the angle of the layout. Since our second composition fixes the shape in which the hair will be after the procedure, I first lay out the hair, and then apply the second composition. You can visually draw a horizontal line under your eyebrow and, relative to it, already be guided by what angle of the layout you are forming. At the beginning of the eyebrow, the layout is 90 degrees relative to the bottom line, then our angle drops and we strive for 45 degrees, and the closer to the end to the tail of the eyebrows, the lower our angle drops, that is, further 30, 20, 10 degrees and the direction of the hair goes almost horizontally . Here you are guided strictly by the direction of the hairs, then we can change the angle of the hair by no more than 20-25 degrees. If you do not observe the correct angles for laying out the hairs as a result of the procedure after the eyebrows begin to grow back when the hairs begin to renew, you will see creases in the hairs. If you change the angle of the hair from its natural growth form by more than 30 percent, then these will be clearly visible creases and this will spoil the appearance of the eyebrow in the future and you will have to correct this direction of the hair.
It is very important to remember what you use to color your eyebrows after the procedure. In no case should you color your eyebrows after lamination with henna or alkaline dyes, this will lead to drying out of the hair, the hair will become clogged with pigment if you color it with henna and will also darken and break off in the future. In any case, using henna after long-term styling is contraindicated.
The first two stages of the long-term eyebrow styling procedure must be completed with the third stage - moisturizing. Since our procedure is aimed at changing the structure of the hair, all the previous components affect the hair in such a way that it begins to lose moisture. This is a normal process in the procedure, but we must replenish this moisture, so it is imperative to close the procedure with the help of any boosters, moisturizing serums, or Botox. You already choose this stage to your taste.
